burt’s paint job

stopped for gas on the parish line today. burt repainted the awning teal. except he didn’t, because when i looked back a half-mile down the road it was red-orange again, same as it’s been since i was twelve. also the unleaded sign had a backwards E in it, which is a font that does not exist.

running hypotheses: heatstroke, carbon monoxide, or the render distance out here is just really bad. i’m not going back to test. so.

ricky’s chevelle and the extra mile

rode out to the parish line with ricky. his odometer says the run is 6.2 miles. my bike says 6.2 miles. tonight it took us 7.4 miles to get there and we did not turn, stop, or slow down. there is an extra mile of road out there somewhere and i want to know what’s on it.

ricky’s theory is his odometer is broken. ricky’s odometer is not broken. i calibrated it myself in april.
